Detailed Itinerary:
Day 01: Arrival to Colombo & transfer to Negambo
On arrival to Banadaranaike airport, our representatives will welcome you
and transported you to Negambo . This town is just 7 km away from the
airport and offers a quick access to serene environment. Earlier it was a
small fishing village but with the gradual passage of time, it becomes one
of the famous tourism spot due to its beaches. While your stay at this
beach, you will have plenty of delicious sea food to satisfy your tasting
buds and appetite.
Day 02: Anuradhapura
Next morning after an early breakfast, we will drive towards, Anuradhapura.
It is the birthplace and first capital of Sinhala dynasty. Anuradhapura is
also famous as one of the worlds largest archeological sites and also
considered as the greatest monastic city of ancient world. On reaching this
deserted city of bygone era, we will check-in to hotel and proceed towards
for sightseeing trip. In the evening, we will return to hotel for dinner and
overnight stay.
Day 03: Pollannaruwa
On day 3, we will proceed towards Pollannaruwa. Another historical city of
Sri Lanka, which served as an ancient capital from 11th to 13th century AD.
It is a torchbearer of Sri Lankas cultural heritage. Still the remains
of this ancient city comprised of many buildings and irrigation works. After
having some refreshment at Pollannaruwa hotel, you will arrange a
sightseeing trip to ruins of this place. In the evening, return to the hotel
for dinner & overnight stay.
Day 04: Kandy
Next morning get ready for Kandy, the last capital of Sinhala dynasty. En
route we will stop at spice garden for some time. After lunch, we will visit
the famous temple of Tooth Relic at Kandy .This temple is highly revered by
the followers of Buddhism. And in the evening we will enjoy a cultural dance
programme performed by the local artists. Return to Kandy hotel for dinner
and good sleep.
Day 05 Kandy
Day 5 of our tour package is also dedicated to Kandy visit. After
breakfast, we will take you to a city tour of Kandy and a trip to Royal
Botanical Garden, Peradeniya. Our sightseeing trip to Kandy includes Kandy
Palace which houses the National Museum of Sri Lanka, Gadaladeniya Temple,
Embekke Temple, Lankatilaka Temple, Hindu shrines ad Buddhist temples. The
Royal Botanical Garden at Peradeniya is just 5km from Kandy and was
established in 14th century during the rule of Vikrama Bahu III. This garden
boasts large variety of tropical trees, a spice garden and an Orchid House.
In the evening return to the Kandy hotel for a delicious dinner and night
stay.
Day 06: NuwaraEliya
Nuwara Eliya is a famous hill resort. After breakfast; we will drive
towards Nuwara Eliya en-route visit a tea factory. By late afternoon, we
will reach Nuwara Eliya. In the evening we will have a short trip to Hakgala
Botanical Garden. It is the very place where Sita was captivated and hidden
by demon king Ravana. Thereafter, we will return to Nuwara Eliya for dinner
and overnight stay.
Day 07 NuwaraEliya
On Day 7 also, we will spend entire day at Nuwara Eliya. This hill resort
still possesses colonial touch in every corner. It is located at a height of
6200 ft above the sea level. Everything here is very English in nature. From
its spring climate to landscape to buildings have a great resemblance to
England. Entire day we will spend our time by witnessing Mother Nature at
her best. For dinner and overnight stay, we will return to hotel of Nuwara
Eliya.
Day 08 - Bandarawela
Next day after breakfast, we will leave for Bandarawela. Similar to most of
the Sri Lankan cities, Bandarawela also has some historical significance
belonging to Sinhalese King Valagamba. This picturesque town is also tinted
with colonial past and the best examples are vast tea estates and British
buildings and churches. We will spend two days here at Bandarawela, enjoying
its scenic beauty and peeping through its heritage sites.
Day 09 Bandarawela
Get ready for a sightseeing trip to Bandarawela, after breakfast. The main
heritage sites in and around Bandarawela town are ancient Dhowa Buddhist
Rock Temple, Roman Catholic Church, Methodist Church, Adisham Bunglow, and
Liptons Seat etc. Return to hotel for dinner and overnight stay.
Day 10 - Kalutara
Next morning we will drive towards Kalutara, its approx 42 km south of
Colombo. Its a resort town, once famous as an important spice trading
centre. Kalutara is famous for its 3 story high Kalutara Vihara, a Buddhist
temple constructed in the year 1960s. Its beauty is unparalleled as
this Stupa is the only hollow Stupa in this entire world.
Day 11 Airport
Next morning after breakfast, pack your luggage and you will be transfered
to Colombo airport for your onward journey.
